I love me some scarf

I'm a scarf kind of person. I love to use them even in the summer, yeah, I'm weird like that. So now that spring has come and I can put aside the chunky knit cowls and choking cache-cous, I can't stop thinking about the most precious, silky and cottony and light scarves the world has to offer.

Here are the ones on my wish list:

Even when I seldom use pink in my wardrobe, I wouldn't mind using this pretty and frilly pink scarf every day.

I just love, love, love the patterns and colors on this collection. They are designed by Lily Stockman and handmade in India by a fifth generation master printer. A piece of art and multiculturalism.

I'm so in love with the Sierra collection by this Spanish collective called Las Coleccionistas. They have 4 different scarves with beautiful landscapes printed on them.

Malachite Silk scarf by Cisthene 

This may be my favorite in the world, yep, sorry, I just LOVE this malachite scarf because of it's beautiful color but mostly because I'm a rock and mineral nutty. Check out the entire collection, they are so perfect. Take note, hubby.

Hi!

It's been a while!! Time flies, doesn't it? I can believe is mid March already and spring is just around the corner, yay! I'm looking forward to put away my winter coat and sorel booths for the season ;)

How are you been? I hope really great. We have been great! very busy and happy and a bit sick with stomach bugs and respiratory infections but hey, I won't complain because that's normal for the season, right?

My little girl has started dance classes for the first time! we are very excited, that's why the photo above, she's so, so happy and looking extremely cute on her dance outfit!

And I'm preparing to take photos to my new collection! It's a small collection of rings and bracelets (I may make earrings, too but not quite sure yet), but I'm super excited as it is different from what I usually make, it's more abstract and I love the simplicity and beauty of the pieces I made, can't wait for you too see it! I'll show you a sneak peek soon :)

Tools of the trade.

Yesterday I went to buy tools and supplies and among the things I got: wax carving tools, wax files and wax blocks. I'm so excited to start working with wax and can't wait to see where it takes me. I've never worked with wax before so I'm also nervous! I'll sure need to take some classes but for the moment, I'm going to play around and experiment.  

I'll keep you posted on my progress! 

Le Petit Trianon

One of my favorite movies ever is Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette. It's a visually gorgeous movie and it has a beautiful feeling to it. After watching the movie I bought the biography by Antonia Fraser and I felt fascinated by this person and the transition of her life from Austrian princess, queen of France until her tragic death and the French revolution. Anyways, if you are into history, I recommend you to read her biography, is so interesting!

Here are some photos I took last year during a trip to France while visiting Le petit Trianon, Marie Antoinette's country home. I hope you like them!

On photos as objects and Marie Antoinette.

I remember when photos where real objects and we used to put them in photo albums like great treasures. Now in the digital era, I only see my images on the computer. I have to confess that, now that I enjoy so much using photo apps on my phone, my old, gorgeous cameras don't get much use these days and that's so sad!

Anyways, I have decided I don't want to neglect real photos anymore and yesterday I ordered a bunch of prints and let me tell you, I'm sooo excited to get them! 

When I was going through photos to send to print I came across the photos from our visit to France last year and I fell in love all over again. I enjoyed so much every place we visited but one of the places that stole my heart was Versailles. It was one of those perfect days, you know? those days when just everything seems right, the wind, the light, the people with you, the place. Those days that stuck in the memory mixed up with comforting, content feelings. 

Also, Versailles is so interesting to me as one of my favorite historical figures of all times is Marie Antoinette and get to walk through the places she once walked was incredible. I'm going to post some photos here of Marie Antoinette apartments in Versailles and while Louis XV furniture and style is absolutely not my type, I still enjoyed so much looking at the details as you'll notice in my pictures :)
