Apple blossoms

More like Spring, Montreal is looking very summery: It's been so sunny and warm! And the trees have leaves now! the world is looking green again and that always makes me happy.

We went to an apple orchard this past weekend in hopes to see the apple blooms and although several trees had flowers already, most of them were not quite there yet. Regardless, it was such a beautiful day and we took photos of the blossoms and also enjoyed walking up a little hill under the bright new leaves of the maple forest.

I hope your weekend was nice and that you feel ready to start your week. Have a lovely Monday!

Mile-End guide

Just found this awesome post-tour guide of the Mile-End here in Montreal, my favorite neighborhood in town :). We live in Outremont neighborhood, just some blocks away from the Mile-End but we go to shops, restaurants, bookstores, fruit shops and coffee shops over there on a daily basis so we consider it as our second neighborhood :)

This post was made by Amy Johnson and Marilis Cardinal of Puces POP for Poppytalk (and speaking of Puces POP, I have great news regarding it but I'll tell you soon!!) and it's very nice and helpful if you plan to visit Montreal any time soon (This is for you Chrystal!).

Check out the post here!

Lots of mushrooms

Can you see a face in this rock?

I had to show you my favorite photos of the mushrooms we encounter while hiking in the woods the other day.

Aren't they perfect? :)

We don't know much about mushrooms and we wanted to call them something, so we invented names for them. Very easy names like, red mushroom, yellow mushroom, ghost mushroom, terrace mushroom, mini white mushroom or ball mushroom, among others :)

What name would you give them? which one is your favorite?

I hope you have a great week!

Apple, ginger and cranberry cocktails, via What Katie Ate

Hi there!

How is it going? I hope excellent :)

I've been neglecting my blog so much lately. I'm sorry if you came and see just the old post. I'm under a load of work, but as soon as I find a peaceful moment I'll come back and show you some photos of what I've been up to, lately :)

For the moment I want to show you a refreshing cocktail recipe I found, I think is perfect for trying out this weekend, dont' you think?

I don't know where you live, but Montreal is so, so HOT right now. Hot id the literal sense of the word. I'm melting away....

I also wanted to tell you I'm going to put my shop on vacations for most part of August :) We are planning on going camping and also to the maritime provinces which I love so much :)
I look forward to take many photos and show them to you :)
The most important thing is that I'll take a little break and be with the family (and let my fingers take a vacation, too, hehehe right now I have blisters for all the hard-awesome-work!), enjoying the summer :)

Have a lovely weekend!

Hello!

All images from here

Hi there! I hope you are doing very well. I've been away from the blog the whole week doing the usual crazy stuff like taking care of the little one, the home and making orders :)

But I've missed my blog so much! I thought of stop by to say hi and post some images that make my heart smile: Like the one of the fresh made bed. Fresh sheets always make me smile and fill my heart with comfort. And the pale color schemes are like vacations for my mind.

Do you have plans for the weekend? I'd love to know what are you going to do :) It's going to be sunny and nice here, we are going to take advantage of the sun spending lots of time outside and going to a craft show (yay! I love craft shows!) tomorrow.

Thanks for stop by and have a great weekend,

Today I love: weekend special ;)

Friday, yay! although I have so many things to do this weekend, I can't help but smile to think of our weekend basics: one day of waking up late, yummy brunchs and movie nights.

Regardless, it's been a little while since the idea of camping is on my mind, so I made a treasury about the nice things that remind me of a weekend on the woods, just beside a lake. I hope you enjoy my picks:

Have a great weekend!!

Thrifting!

Hi there! How are you? So many days have passed since the last time I say hi :) I hope everything is well with you and that your weekend was great!

I have some photos to share with you from Saturday. I went with my friends to an antique market and we found some very cool stuff, specially jewellery! as the three of us are jewellers that was the thing we cared the most ;) hehehe

Why did I closed my eyes so freaking tight?! Ugh.

Favourite part of the trip: Antique brass rings! Thanks for taking us there Louise!

Silly girls: Marie and Louise.
(Check out their etsy shops here: MarKhed and Louise Koo both are awesome jewellers!)
Thank so much for stopping by! Have a great week!!

Do you believe in luck?

Good luck card by DEADWEIGHT

Most of times I don't think about luck. Then again, there are days where this strange thing called "luck" it's so good i can't help but think: 'I'm so lucky today!'. Of course, once in a while comes the day where I think: 'WTF, today's such an unlucky day!'

The past weekend was sort of unlucky. Sort of.
I got sick, then the weather was so angry it wasn't fun as I had to head outside to do some stuff. Husband was out of town skiing and having a good time in Colorado and I forgot to put my keys on my purse :S So I was all freaked out, soaking wet in the rain, with a hungry Amelia and waiting for the guy-who-opens-doors to come and help me and it was so painful to pay the money I payed for a thing that took him 2 minutes to complete! (I don't know the name of the people who make keys and open doors...?). Oh, did I mention that when I realized i had forgot my keys inside I also realized my cell phone was dead, no battery whatsoever? I wanted to scream in frustration.

Then my computer decided not to function for four freaking days :S

...

It was weird, I was like: 'What is happening to me?' But I guess I was lucky enough to have one of my best friends with me for the weekend and that was the only thing that kept me sane. Well, I also had to give some credit to my little one who was so sweet and well behaved ;)

I guess it wasn't that bad :)

And that's why you haven't see me around lately, if you wondered. Yesterday husband came back home and with a simple take-the-battery-off-put-it-back-again of the laptop, it magically worked again. Really. I guess technology and me, we just don't come along too well.

:S

But enough with this! I just wanted to take it out of my chest. I hope I did not scare you away!
If I didn't, thanks so much for reading through my whining :)

So, do you believe in luck?

Cold

Hi! how was your weekend? i hope it was lovely! mine was great. I took those photos of an old building we came across while walking on the old part of Montreal yesterday. I really like it: the red brick, old, forgotten.
Yesterday we went to an auto show, i couldn't care less about cars (i'm unable to recognize models or remember names, the only car i like and i know its name is the mini cooper, that one is really cute) but husband loooove cars so it was time he had some fun his way :)
Montreal it's pretty sunny today, but the temperature is -27 C! can you believe it? it's crazy!
I wanted to go get some materials i need but i rather stay home this morning, it's just too cold outside.
Anyways, i'll need to confront the freezing air later on the afternoon as i have jewelry class today. I'm so happy i'm back to my classes, it's so much fun, and cool :) I hope i'll be able to finish some new projects i'm working on soon, but first i have to get some orders done :) things are going good in the shop and that's awesome!

Thanks for visiting and have a great week!

Other artists i loved were Aurelie Grand who is an illustrator and i wrote about her work before. There's also Jack Dylan, an illustrator too. We bought a couple of his posters but i can't show them to you because there are gifts for some friends ;) but be sure to visit his website because his work is really awesome.
I also loved Bespoke Upraising, super cool screen printed textiles with original illustrations by the artist, who also happens to have a lovely blog here.
It's so cool to get to know and personally see the work of all this amazing Canadian artists. I completely recommend them all!
Hopefully i'll get to sell on Puces Pop next year! that'll be awesome.
