One of my friends shared this video on her Facebook page and I thought it was brilliant, as it TRULY reflects daily life in the kind of Montreal I been living in in the last stormy days. The beginning of the video, I'm pretty sure, was filmed around my neighborhood! so when watching the video, you can place my face on any of those persons as I probably walked around those areas, getting my feet stuck in the same messy snow and slipped on the same sidewalks ;D

On Winter and why I love it but somethings not too much.

Oh winter, so beautiful and so harsh.

Yesterday we had a BIG snow storm here in Montreal. I'm not sure, but I think we received about 20cm of snow. Amelia and I spent most of the day outside (for reasons I'll tell you about in a sec) while fat and fluffy snow fell down making everything look like winter wonderland. It was pure joy, I swear.

Things felt different today, though. It all start like this: Yesterday I received a call from the daycare telling me that at last, Amelia was showing signs of realizing she was in a daycare without mommy around. She was crying non stop and complaining of a sore throat. I left the apt in a rush, so worried for my little one! The rest I'll explain while showing you some photos:

1.- I received the call from daycare, rush myself out of the house, almost running on slippery streets covered in fresh, falling snow to arrived to daycare and find Amelia crying and complaining :( she calmed down soon and then started playing again with the other kids while laughing. I decided to test her, so I took her to have lunch with me...

2.- At lunch, she was singing, laughing and eating like someone who doesn't have a sore throat...

3.- As I knew she was well and the crying at daycare was just because she missed me, I decided to run some errands with her in the neighborhood. It was so beautiful outside not to take advantage of the day.

4.- Does she seems like someone who feels sick? not to me! After we arrived home, we spent more time in the front yard, building a snow castle (it just a big mount of snow actually, but Amelia call it a castle, aww), shoveling the stairs and lying in the fluffiness :)

Today we woke up to more snow and my little girl crying because she didn't want to got to daycare :s It was so hard to get her dressed as she was running away from me crying and screaming. When I finally managed to calm her, convince her, dress her, take her out in one arm and the stroller in the other, we had missed our bus and the idea of walking 1.5 km getting stuck in the snow every 2 meters was extremely painful to me. I felt defeated. Both my three year old and by the storm.

5.- So what yesterday was winter wonderland, today seemed like a nightmare: sidewalks full with muddy snow, barriers of 1/5 meter of snow to cross every street and freezing rain falling over while I was fighting my way on. I had to go back home, hadn't I?

So we are home today and even when we had a rough start of the day, I feel positive I make the right choice. Every time I look out the window the panorama seems more and more hardcore and uninviting for a stroll. Today I'm glad to watch the snow fall from my window :)

The shop is open, yay!! I'm back to business!!

And look at these little cuties I just listed on the shop! They are super cute, tiny hearts for your ears ;) just a touch of loveliness.

I made them last December but with the holiday gift rush and the vacations, I didn't had time to photograph them until today :) Actually, I have a BUNCH of new things ready to be photograph, yay!! expect new things coming up soon ;)

As valentine's day is coming up, I decided to make the photography Valentine-day-ish and as I'm not very into valentine's day to tell you the truth (:s), I was afraid I wouldn't like it but no, I love it :) I think the color and mood goes pretty good with my tiny hearts :) I hope you like it too!

Daycare at last!

It's done! Amelia has officially started her daycare days. I swear I thought I was going to cry like craaaazy but I was mistaken: she looked so happy and ready to stay playing with the other kids that I didn't feel sad or anxious or melancholic, I was very happy, like her and ready to start this new adventure :)

I started to feel a bit weird when I got home and everything was so silent: for a moment I was a bit lost, didn't know what to do next. The apartment felt so strange without my little girl around. I had to call to the daycare just to ask how was she doing, hadn't I? I wasn't surprised to learn she was doing great, no crying at all and acting as if she knew everybody already. Hmm, I started wondering if maybe I had her at home all this years without her approval and now she was feeling free...but then I felt very happy and proud of her, I know she is such a brave, independent little thing but until that moment I truly realized she'll be totally fine discovering her world.

Then we go pick her up and I was sure she was going to run to my arms and maybe even cry, but no :s hahahahaha she seem glad to see us but at the same time she let us know she was busy eating an apple. We let her finish while her -how do you call the people who take care of the kids at daycare?-teacher told us how was Amelia's day. She told us she was a total sweet, totally comfortable and independent and that the only time she looked a bit off was at nap time, when she asked for me and was told I was going to go pick her up after the nap, then she said ok and went to sleep. I cried a bit there, just a tear or two. She thought of me after all!!!

After that chat with the teacher we told Amelia 'it's time to go home!! yay!!' then her eyes and nose turned red and she said: 'noooooooo', wow...then she changed her mind and gladly said goodbye to everybody and came happily back with us :)

*Sigh* Today she was sooo incredibly excited to go back to daycare, she had a big smile on her face :) And me, here, trying to create a new routine and getting ready to get back to work while I feel like I can't wait to go pick her up and hug her.

I'm enjoying the last days of Amelia being free of daycare to the max! She was due to start her daycare adventure last Tuesday but the daycare building had a problem with the potable water and it's closed for the week while they arrange problems. Tentatively, they'll re-open on Monday and that'll be Amelia first day in daycare :)

Want to have a peek about what we were up to today? some photos bellow :)

It wasn't so cold today (this week has been very chilly in comparison!) and we took advantage of the -8 Celsius outside to go for a walk, sushi, macaroons and to the park. The park part was tricky: every inch of the place was frozen! we fell down more than a couple of times, but it was fun :)

Bellow, you'll find the work of Sergei Mikhailovich Prokudin-Gorskii (1863-1944), Russian photographer. In the early 1900's he began an ambitious project supported by Tsar Nicholas II where he traveled around Russian taking photographs and documenting the empire: from architecture, to landscape, advances in technology, to ethnicity, daily living and everything in between.

he was an amazing photographer, capturing the essence of the simplest moments. One of the things that makes his work most peculiar though, is that he was a pioneer in color photography and he developed a technique that consisted in taken three photographs in a rapid sequence using different filters for each image (red, green and blue) then layer the negatives to obtain a color photography. This technique allows us to enjoy his photographs of a Russia on the verge of revolution in full color.

I go head over heels for photography and nostalgia, so you can imagine my awe when I saw this images for the first time (got there thanks to Fine Little Day blog). I still spend time during the day just wandering on those images, I swear. These may be some of the most inspiring photos I've seen in my life and the fact that they are in color and were taken 100 years ago has a lot to do with me falling in love with them. There is something so nostalgic about looking into the technicolor life of someone who lived 100 years ago in a world that was about to change dramatically.

There are a bunch of beautiful cropped images of this collection around the web, but when I got to the source in the library of congress web site, I fell in love with this un-cropped, original versions from the negative; the little defects and the way you can see the filters it's amazing. I amply recommend you to visit the entire collection and read the titles of the photos you like the most, the stories of the people/places in the photos are as compelling as the images themselves.

Here are some of the photos I've taken lately with my phone using my favorite app Instagram :)

We haven't done much lately, the holidays were truly amazing as we got to rest a lot and just chill out :) Today was going to be the day where the holidays got to an end for us, as Alex is on his way to Winnipeg, Manitoba for work and Amelia was going to start DAYCARE today. But as we got to the place, we saw a firefighter engine and we were like "what the heck is going on?" and we were told a water pipe had broken and the first floor was all flooded and so the day care was going to be closed for a couple of days :s So much excitement for nothing! But I'm glad it happened this way because I was feeling pretty anxious in the morning (I know is ridiculous!) and I'm sure leaving Amelia in daycare was going to make me cry or something. Now things feel different as my separation anxiety turned into annoyance for the place being closed. I'm sure the day they re-open the place and I leave Amelia there I'm going to feel relieved and excited for the future, hehehehehehe!

Can you believe we only have two days left of 2011? Time flies!

2011 has been such a great year for me: I have the love of my family and friends, health for me and my loved ones and be blessed of having Alex and Amelia by my side. Also, this was the year when I realize how real my dream of having my own jewelry business is. Not a dream at all but a reality :)

Two of the things I dreamed of being/doing one day came true this year: I was a featured seller on Etsy and then I participated in Puces POP craft & DIY fair :) Life's good!

Many challenges coming our way this new year. Not because I think it has to be another year to plan new things (I absolutely think every day counts to start something, no matter the year, the month or the hour), but the stars got aligned that way: Amelia is starting to go to daycare Next week, January the 3rd! I have such a mix of strange feelings. She has been with me almost 24/7 for all her life and even when most of the time I'm so tired of all the work, the cooking three meals a day, to try to work on the jewelry and the mommy business at the same time, and even when sometimes I forget my own name, she's my little companion and the sunshine of my days. It's going to be sad to let her go for the first time, I think. But on the other hand, I'm very, very happy to know she's going to meet lots of new people, will have the chance to interact with lots of little kids like her and will have fun and learn new things in daycare while I have more time to do my stuff and remember what my name is.

So life's good :)

I want to thank you for a wonderful 2011 because you coming to my blog, keeping up with my things and supporting me with your comments have been such a special part of my smiling this year, thank you so, so much!

May 2012 be one of the best years of your life!!!!

We got freezing rain the other day. Is it wrong to get excited by a freezing rain storm? I mean, not precisely excited about the dangerous driving/walking conditions but there's something magical in seeing everything covered by ice. It's like a crystal world. And when the sunshine hits the ice, is absolutely stunning :)

Christmas morning

Hi! Merry Christmas to all who celebrate! I hope you had a lovely time with your loved ones :)

I don't remember to have had such a relaxing time prior, during and after Christmas in my life. I swear it was so nice. We spend most of the Christmas holidays watching movies, eating popcorn, cuddled together in the sofa under a blanket while the snow fell outside. I'm not kidding when I tell you we were watching movies most of the time: we re-watched the extended edition of the Lord Of The Rings trilogy in two days! The only time we left the house was to spend Christmas at friends' and have a super lovely evening and such good food!!

Aaaahh, I feel so relaxed. This truly feels like holidays :)

I knew Amelia would love the dinosaur shadow puppets we got her, but I didn't expected it to be her favorite gift :)

All I got to my loved ones was handmade :) It felt good to be directly supporting other people's business :) So much better to just spend some money in the big corporations. Although we got some of Amelia's toys from a toy store, we went to one that is in our neighborhood, is small, lovely and run by the owners :) Maybe it doesn't matter, but it felt good anyways, to buy from small companies and people :)

On Vacations!

Yep, I'm officially on vacations, yay!!

To say this past couple of months have been hectic is an understatement: crazy jewelry making; Alex out of town every week, coming home just for the weekends; me alone with the little one during all those days, craft shows and a couple episodes of colds and coughs we still are battling to get rid of! phew! I was dreaming of the day I see my Etsy shop closed for a couple weeks and just relax and enjoy :)

On Christmas traditions and parenting

You may haven't notice, because I prefer to focus on the positive, but I'm kind of a grinch. It may be the things that were left in me from my Punk-ish teenage years, or maybe I'm just a simple rebel person. The thing is, when it comes to traditions, I cringe to idea of doing things for the sake of it. I like to do things that mean something to me. I prefer to have a choice and be me.

When it comes to religion, I do believe in a bigger force that moves the universe, I just can't picture it like the images in the books, if you know what I mean. For a couple of years after Alex and I got married, we didn't put a Christmas tree or make traditional celebrations, because we didn't feel it was nice to celebrate something we don't believe in and to just put a tree and give gifts for the sake of it, without that deep meaning the occasion have to believers in Christianity, didn't seem right. This doesn't mean I don't like a lovely Christmas tree (I love it) or presents (I LOVE presents), is just that I refused to just make it a banal celebration of consumerism.

But things are changing, and sometimes I don't know what's the right thing to do. What I mean by this is that, It's been two years that we are putting a Christmas tree and giving gifts to each other and we are doing it because of Amelia. And here's were my conflict begins: For one thing, I want Amelia to grow up happy, whit lovely memories that things like celebrating Christmas with your family and friends can give you and I want her to be close to many things and experiences as I can give her, so, when it comes the time, she can make her own decisions and choices based on the experiences she had. And for other part, I feel a bit hollow, because what do I tell her? I mean, I don't want her to believe (or not to) in what I believe just because I said so. I don't want to make this kind of decisions for her, because I'd love her to be a tolerant, happy person, whatever she chooses to believe in, and I don't know if I do good celebrating Christmas with the only meaning of giving presents, or saying stuff about Santa.

What makes me confident when thinking that it may be good to expose her to this traditions is that, she just looks so happy when she sees the Christmas lights on the streets; she was delighted when we went together to buy the tree and put it on our living room and decorate it together with shinny things. And I can clearly see she's excited about lovely wrapped gifts, of course. So that gives me hope in what we are doing, even when I have so many doubts and questions. I think the thing that makes me the more prone to keep the Christmas tradition in my family is that, I remember how lovely it was when I was a Child to have this celebration with my family, the expectations, the tree, it was such a magical time for me as a child, so why I'd deny that to my own kid? I won't. But that doesn't make me free of doubts.

There's no doubt in my mind, being a parent and being responsible of making the little one a happy, loving, caring person for this crazy world, is the most challenging thing, ever.

But I'll stop my grinch ways right here, and I'll enjoy the smile in Amelia's little face :)

Puces POP Weekend

What a weekend I had: Puces POP was awesome!! Last week I worked my ass off to finish etsy orders and build up stock for the craft show and although by the end of the week I was incredibly tired, just entering the puces pop venue filled me up with energy and excitement!

It was a great weekend full of friends (my booth neighbor was Marie from Markhed Designs who is one of my dearest friends), the company of Alex and Amelia (although Amelia's cough is not improving and they had to go home and rest most part of Sunday), lost of sales, lots of awesome purchases, meeting new costumers, visits from friends and I also loved eating lots of cupcakes :) It was also like a weekend outside as I was just in front of the door, it was opened and it was so cooooolddddd! brrrr. The first day it took me by surprise but on the second day I went very prepared for the weather inside with my big ass winter boots and coat. You'll see the photos ;)

Some are photos of my booth and some of my favourite vendors at the fair. I wish I had been able to take more of favourite vendors because there was such great, great stuff, but I was so busy and couldn't go around much!

Holiday Puces POP!

Next Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th of December I'll be selling my jewelry at Puces POP craft & DIY fair here, in beautiful Montreal :)

If you love original and cool handmade stuff, you don't want to miss Puces POP because is going to be LOAD of the awesome creations of more than 85 local artisans.

This is going to be the second time I'm going to be selling at the fair. Last time I had such a great time and meet lots of lovely people :) not to mention, I bought some really awesome things ;D I've never been able to leave Puces POP without a thing or two (everything is so cool!).

Can you believe is December already? Hmmmm...

All this year I've had this weird, mixed up feeling: the first stage of this feeling is that the seasons were suuuuper long, for example: I feel like summer lasted forever, but in an awesome way, you know? I mean, it's summer! I enjoyed it so much, maybe that's why I feel it lasted long, because I took every little great thing out of it. The same happened to me with Autumn, It's almost over now and I have the feeling that the yellow leaves lasted so long on the trees, but it was great because I love so much looking at them, walking over them and hear/feel the crunchiness and the golden light everywhere you look. I took the best I could out of it.

Then there's the second stage of the weird mix up feeling: It was so great and I had such a great time that suddenly I feel so nostalgic and start to think: "whaaat? is it over already?" and panic a bit. I know is non sense and so contradictory.

Now it's almost Winter and you know what? I'm so looking forward to feel the same way as with the last two seasons because that'll mean I'll enjoy Winter to the max. PLUS, I truly hope that in 5 months I'm thinking: "whaaaat? is it over already?!" because Winter is the season that feels the longest, I love it, don't get me wrong, but after 4-5 months using heavy coats, big snow boots, forgetting what the sun is and specially, dressing and undressing with thousands of layers my three year old every time we leave the house, I can get a bit tired of winter. Just a bit ;)

Oh, what a weekend! both in the nice and not-so-nice ends. For one, I was so fortunate to be part once again of an exhibition/sale organized by Les Joailliers du Dimanche collective and got to meet new local costumers and fellow jewellers. For the other part, I spend the whole weekend so sick, with cough and aches everywhere, so it was exhausting! But totally worth it :)

What a great surprise to see Seventy Tree Etsy shop open again! Although Kerry from Seventy Tree had her Big Cartel shop open all this time, as I spend so much time on Etsy, it's great to be just "around the corner" from Kerry's wonderful, quirky, cute illustrations!

Bits from the studio after a very productive weekend

A month ago I was complaining about how slow sales were; now I'm so scared with the amount of work I have! particularly because I have two upcoming craft fairs (exciting!): one at the end of this month and the other on December.

Last weekend I was extremely productive and managed to make lots of pretty jewels :) As you can see on the photos, I made my thunder necklace in 14k gold, it looks so lovely. And my favorite is the desert rock stacked rings in gold and oxidized silver, they look gorgeous!

Now what I need to do is to photograph them and post them on my Etsy shop :) Oh, and the lovely rainbow bracelet above, I made it as a special order for a lovely costumer, I'm really happy with the results!

Last but not least, the lovely postcard you see on the first image (from Audrey Jeanne) is a gift from my sweet friend Clemece, I love it! thanks Clemence!!!

Just wanted to share with you this wonderful photo I saw today on Ana Vega's Pinterest board because I'm completely in love with it! I see it and is like I'm travelling to a distant world, beautiful, fantastic and mysterious.

Gahhh I so want to make something like that... Well, I kind of did, din't I? with the paper forest I made for my new line photo shoot? Kind of ;) Now I know what to do with the little forest, instead of having it stuck inside a box, I'll make a display like that! Oh, I feel so inspired!

The photo is from Jenny Edwards' Flickr photostream, she doesn't have much info about her work (I so want to know more!) but you'll find really inspiring images there :)

Amelia is three years old!

Amelia is three years old today! We had her birthday party yesterday and she was so happy! I think my favorite moment was when I brought the cake with the candles where she stood and we were singing "las mananitas" (Mexican birthday song) to her; the look on her face! her eyes were sparkling, it was a beautiful moment. Oh, and then she started thanking everybody, hehehe so sweet!!!!

I made the party hats and the pinata! The inspiration for the party hats came from this and this awesome tutorials. And this is the amazing tutorial for the pinata. I'm so bad following instructions, but the photos of those tutorials are so great I could easily figure out how to make them just by looking at the pictures :) Of course, as I did not followed the instructions my creations weren't as cool as the ones in the tutorials :s

Amelia was so excited when I was making the hats, but the day of the party, she didn't want to use them!!! arrgh! but well, it was her party, so...

It was such a fun day :) she didn't want to go to bed that night, maybe because of all the cupcakes but I think it was mostly because she was very excited :)

Thanks to my dear friend Mayi Carles for Amelia's headband!! it's absolutely perfect!

And if you come to Montreal, do yourself a favor and have a cupcake from Petits Gateaux, those are always the soul of the party (well, for those like me who are sugar junkies :s haha).

This lovely woman is Selma; she's from France, has a 2 year old boy (Rafael), and came to Montreal for vacations with her partner. Luckily enough for me, she's a reader of my blog and contacted me to see if we could meet and of course we did!

I was very moved to learn that Selma got to know me thanks to my Etsy feature last July and that lead her to my blog, and my blog lead her to Heartmade blog (from my dear friend Mayi Carles) which lead her to some other wonderful blogs that make her realize how much she wants to follow her creative instincts!

I truly felt so grateful for your words Selma, they made me feel so motivated to keep doing what I do, which should be something good if I can inspire someone else! Although I hope Amelia and I did not scare you with our noisy-messy ways (gosh, Amelia started going crazy at one point during our nice chat!). It was so nice to meeting you Selma, thanks for stopping by our neighborhood!

Work! Look my gorgeous crater ring, ready to be shipped to one of my lovely costumers!

My sweet Amelia cherie! and the little cutie beside her is her best friend Penelope (aka famous Lope-Lope). And look at her costume!! she was a dragon and was sooooo into her character! roaring to everybody that passed by :D Halloween was SO much fun, I'll post a bunch of cute halloween picks soon!

Around the house. Alex craved three wonderful pumpkins!! The little wooden house is an antique find, cute, isn't it? And the embroidery is made by me :D ouiiiiii :D I love embroidery, did you know? (if in doubt, check out my pinterest board ;D). The people on the last photo is my mum, dad and me at the circus! wow, I was 4 years old and this is one of my favorite pics of me as a child :) The little bunny beside the picture was made by my dear friend Norma from Cara Carmina!

Days like this are my favorites: It's a bit cold but the sun is shinning. It's a bit windy but that makes the leaves fall lazily to the ground. I see the clock and say 'oh, we have to hurry up back home' but then Amelia rolls on the grass, laughing and I think 'naw, we are good'.

We don't have many photos of the three of us together: is always Amelia, or Amelia and me or Alex and Amelia. Those are the basic combinations. But this past weekend we went to Mont-Tremblant (a little village in the mountains 90 min north of Montreal) with my friend Maribel and her mom and Maribel took a lovely photo of the three of us :) yay!

The landscapes where breathtaking as the colors from the leaves where so vibrant. Just gorgeous. Oh my how I love Autumn!

At the park

It's incredible how nice the weather has been lately. I mean, we are in plain Autumn and the days have been sunny and even unseasonably warm. Well, today is looking more like autumn as it's been raining the whole day, but still, it's warm!

Yesterday we went to the park and had fun playing with the leaves and the park's cat. Well, I think that he lives in the park because he's always there but I can't be sure.

Amelia loves that cat, she calls it "miniño" that's something between 'minino' a spanish word for cat, and 'mi niño' spanish for 'my boy'. I can't be sure of the sense she gives to the name, though.

Anyways, she's always talking with the cat, following it, caressing it, she cries when minino doesn't want to be close to her and so on. I think that, when we move to a bigger place, we are going to adopt a cat. She is so good with animals :) she adores them and is gentle and sweet with them :)

It's Friday, yay!! I'm ready to go open a beer, yay! Alex brought me my favorite beer, it's called St-Ambroise, made here in Montreal and it's apricot flavor. Best beer ever!

Rocks and Mountains

Tea Party

I have so many new pretty jewels on my shop, yay!! I spend August and September making new things that were lingering on my mind (and my sketch notebook!) for so long! All was worth it as it feels like I have a whole new collection! After a couple weeks of photo shoots (Oh, it was hard to get the right light and quiet moments with Amelia to coincide, it took me so long to finish the photography!), editing and listing, you can now see the results of all that work. I'm in love with my new things and I hope you love them, too :)

I can divide the new stuff in two collections: The Rocks and Mountains and The Tea Party :)

The Rock and Mountain collection was stuck in my mind during my last trip to Mexico (almost a year ago and you can check my photos here). We went to Alex hometown in the north of Mexico which is a city located in the desert and surrounded by mountains. On a day trip while in there, we drove a couple hours by unpaved roads to this tiny village, in the middle of the desert and mountains where the locals extract herkimer diamonds from the near mountains. I love rocks and minerals (have you noticed?) and this was like a magic trip for me: finding all those treasures, meeting those persons, being in the austerity of the desert (which I'm completely in love with) and in the company of people I love. So I came back with so many images in my mind ready to pass on to metal.

At the moment of making all that into metal, I was also very influenced by simple geometric shapes and patterns, photography of mountains and also by our ski adventures here in Canada. It may be a eclectic mix of inspiration, but I think it translates so cool in the objects!

And the Tea Party collection is just part of my "refuge" thing going on: comfort, the search for serenity, relaxation, calm moments, the feeling of security I have when I'm home with the people I love, the childhood memories, nostalgia and so on. And this collection was also influenced by Alice in Wonderland :) and that can count as a childhood memory, too :)

And there's more to come! I'm still working on some pieces for both collections, some in 14k gold. And if you want to see new weather related things, well, I have some awesome little new pieces that I'll be listing in the next days, so check back often!

Well, thank you so much if you read all that! pheew! I just think the inspiration and ideas behind the things I make are so much part of the pieces, that I feel I need to write them down :)

Hi there! I hope you are doing great!

I just wanted to share some photos from our weekend: we went apple picking and had so much fun :) It was a super cold day, though! very windy and drizzle-y; the first cold day of the cold day season, brrrrrrrr! But it was awesome! Amelia was in heaven, with the farm animals and eating all the apples she fancied (she ate like three in an hour period :s), and us, enjoying a little time out of town but mostly, enjoying Amelia's laughs and funny faces :)

It was a long month of preparation and hard work but at the end all was worth it!

Last weekend I was one of the many local vendors of my favouirte craft show -Puces POP- for the first time ever.

It was awesome: the other vendors, the visitors, the sales, the energy, the company, the gained experience, the new discoveries, the change to get to know the people who likes and wears my jewelry, the insight of the direct feedback, opinions and potential market and so on. I'm extremely happy to have been part of it this time around!

So thanks so much Marilis and Tessa from Puces POP for giving me the chance to be part of it and being so nice!

How cool is to receive an unexpected note, gift or visit from a dear friend? noting beats the feeling of knowing someone special thinks of you and appreciate you.

I felt that way the other day when I received a wonderful package all the way from Mexico from my friend RosaMaria :D I was so excited I couldn't resist to take a bunch of photos of her lovely gift, so beautifully packed and full of adorable things made by her!

RosaMaria is an incredible talented girl, with a passion for fabric and sewing, an eye for beautiful things and most important of all, with the kindest heart.

Isn't lovely?! she send me a tissue holder and the fabric has a cloud pattern, a super cute tape with illustrated apples, a card with illustration of cute houses (!!), a super cute fabric bag and one of my favorite mexican candy, chiclosos! and all lovely packed and labeled with tags of her own making. Isn't she sweet? Mil gracias RosaMaria!!!

One of my favorite birthday gifts this year was an iphone Alex gave me (although it's hard to decide as this year he truly payed attention to my "hints" and wishlist! hehehe). Oh my, my. It's been AGES! how are you?! I'm glad to be here and say hi to you :D

I missed my blog but I've been so crazy with work and stuff that I had to set it aside for calmer times.

I'm working very hard for Puces POP, which is a super cool craft fair (part of POP Montreal music festival), my favourite in Montreal because there are always so many awesome local designers selling their creations at puces. So proud to be part of it this time! That's the reason I've been like crazy :) I'm very excited!

This is my messy work space. It used to be a cute little office sometime ago but now it's full of tools, supplies and dust. Is OK though, but I definitely think it's due for some cleaning and that my wall needs me to make it pretty ASAP!

But well, in the mean time, I wanted to tell you my shop is open again! My so called vacations are over and even thought I have been working on local orders, new projects and upcoming plans, is now time to turn the production button mode on for real.

Which reminds me I haven't tell you something! I'm super excited as I'm going to sell at the Puces POP craft fair on September 24th and 25th!! This is such a big deal to me as is going to be my first major sale-to-public and Puces POP is one of my favorite things to do in Montreal! I neeeeever miss it, is full of awesome local artists/crafters that made wonderful stuff, and I feel very excited to be part of it this time around. So, as you can imagine, I'm working my ass off to prepare lovely jewelry for the fair and I'm also working on things and props for my booth.

So, if you happen to go to the shop and see I have few listings, that is the reason: I'm trying to build up a decent inventory, but this doesn't mean I can't work on your favorite pieces! If you want something from the shop that you can't see listed, just send me an etsy-message and I can list the item for you :)

Mile-End guide

Just found this awesome post-tour guide of the Mile-End here in Montreal, my favorite neighborhood in town :). We live in Outremont neighborhood, just some blocks away from the Mile-End but we go to shops, restaurants, bookstores, fruit shops and coffee shops over there on a daily basis so we consider it as our second neighborhood :)

Can you see a face in this rock?

I had to show you my favorite photos of the mushrooms we encounter while hiking in the woods on my birthday-camping-trip :)

Aren't they perfect? :)

We don't know much about mushrooms and we wanted to call them something, so we invented names for them. Very easy names like, red mushroom, yellow mushroom, ghost mushroom, terrace mushroom, mini white mushroom or ball mushroom, among others :)

What name would you give them? which one is your favorite?

Birthday camping trip :)

The camping trip was truly awesome :) I had a super awesome birthday and couldn't be more happy of have spend it on the woods :D

Our fear was how Amelia was going to react to spend three days in the woods but she was soooo happy. We took some of her toys, thinking she might get bored of just chilling out, but she didn't even played with them. She was super happy exploring everything, swimming in the lake, watching the chipmunks, birds and mushrooms :) It was amazing.

The first day we plunged into the lake and eat hot dogs for dinner. We were about to have my birthday pie (it was easier to transport than a cake!) when it started to rain. Like, a huge storm. So we got inside the tent and spent most of the evening hanging out in there, having cider, telling stories and listening to the storm outside. I know it sounds like not fun, but I swear it was magical. We were just relaxed and happy :) A bit afraid of the water getting into the tent, though, but it didn't :D yay!

The next day we went for a hike and climb up a little mountain. We spent most of the day walking, taking photos of mushrooms and lichen, just enjoying the forest. I have to say that at one point when we were climbing up the mountain, I was so paranoid! it was so dark inside the woods, so lonely and a couple years ago we saw a bear in that same area so I was "seeing" bears everywhere :s But we didn't encounter any, thank goodness :) hehehehe. Then we spent the evening by the lake.

The next day I had aches everywhere due to the walking and climbing :) We went very far inside the park to a gorgeous place beside a river and we saw two snakes! one, was a baby snake (a photo bellow) but the other one was big and Alex almost stepped over it!! The snake was as scared as us, but regardless, we didn't want to spent more time close to that place full of snakes :S It was nice as experience, though :) to be so close to nature :)

Tomorrow is my birthday, yay! and we are celebrating it in the forest! Tomorrow we part camping for the weekend. I'm so excited as it's been a while since I'm feeling like spending a couple days in the forest, and just enjoy nature, breath some fresh, pine-perfumed air and walk under big trees. I'm a little bit scared, though, as I know I rely too much in the comforts of the city and home, but I'm excited to see how it goes and how Amelia is going to take it :)

Having the shop on vacations have given me the time to get my hands on the neglected things around the house.

One of those things is sorting out stuff at home and getting rid of the things we don't need anymore. There is something great about letting go of material things. Like, one allow oneself to be in a different place, to grow, somehow.

For example, we are getting rid of Amelia's crib and high chair (among other baby stuff). She still fits perfectly on her crib, but I feel like it can be a way for us, Alex and I, to tried to prolong her baby stage, like we don't want to see she's becoming more and more a little girl. We want to keep her safe in our arms forever. It's hard, isn't it? to keep up with the incredibly super fast growing stages of little children. One day they are a tiny thing, that rely completely on you and suddenly they are jumping and running everywhere, having conversations with you and wanting to be more and more independent. So I think is about time to make some changes that fit more Amelia's age :) Oh, and also to celebrate that she's becoming so good with going to the bathroom!

A little while ago I sold two pairs of my lightning bolts earrings to a lovely Australian girl. Weeks passed, we waited and waited and the lightning bolts never arrived to its destination.

It's an awful feeling to get an order lost in the mail, not to mention the fear of a disappointed costumer!

So what I did was to notify my lost parcel to Canada Post and replace my costumer's order. What I got in return was one of the best transactions I have got on Etsy. And I'm not talking about monetary transactions, I'm talking about one of those experiences that help you learn and at the same time let you know amazing people.

Helen, my Australian costumer, is the sweets girl. She was a total blessing because if this would have happened with maybe another costumer, probably it'd have been a very stressful situation. But she was so incredibly patience, kind and just so nice! I felt so grateful towards her for her patience and kindness.

And then, a couple days ago I received this :

(Oh, and that's Amelia's hand that was so impatience of me, for taking photos instead of opening the box! hehehe she was behind me just asking me to open it!)

Is was a package send by Helen to say thanks for the earrings and replacing her order! I swear I felt like crying, in a good way, I was emotional to have got to know such a sweet person and know she was so happy for having business with me. I couldn't believe it.

Helen, thank you! you are amazing and, as I told you, every single detail in my "happy box" (as I call it now) describes how sweet, funny and kind you are!

For me every single thing was a treat, and that includes all the postage in the box as I LOVE postage and have a little collection :D

Hello, hello!

I hope you are doing great!

I've finally put my shop on vacations, yay! and planning on re-opened it on August 22 :)

I feel relaxed already!

The biggest plan for this month is to go camping to celebrate my birthday! I know is kind of a weird way of wanting to celebrate my birthday but I swear I want to go camping so badly! I can see myself chilling out beside a lake, watching Amelia play, walking in the forest and stargazing at night!

As you can see, I'm so looking forward to it :) I just hope is not like the last time we went camping: I almost had hypothermia one night! it was so cold (I'll never go camping again in the middle of chilly spring!). But I think this time the weather will be great :)

Below are some of the photos I took last week in Toronto, Ontario. We spent the whole week in Hamilton and it was terrible! truly. It's a sad city, Hamilton. It's like a forgotten place, sad.

We did stuff anyways: Alex was working but Amelia and I went walking, shopping, to the library and to a children museum that was very fun :)

Then on Saturday we went to have brunch with our friends Michelle and Javier in Toronto. That was great :) We walked in the city for a bit and then started to drive back home.

Hi there!

How is it going? I hope excellent :)

I've been neglecting my blog so much lately. I'm sorry if you came and see just the old post. I'm under a load of work, but as soon as I find a peaceful moment I'll come back and show you some photos of what I've been up to, lately :)

For the moment I want to show you a refreshing cocktail recipe I found, I think is perfect for trying out this weekend, dont' you think?

I don't know where you live, but Montreal is so, so HOT right now. Hot id the literal sense of the word. I'm melting away....

I also wanted to tell you I'm going to put my shop on vacations for most part of August :) We are planning on going camping and also to the maritime provinces which I love so much :)

I look forward to take many photos and show them to you :)

The most important thing is that I'll take a little break and be with the family (and let my fingers take a vacation, too, hehehe right now I have blisters for all the hard-awesome-work!), enjoying the summer :)

Amelia with her best friend (Penelope, AKA Lope-Lope on her mom's lap) on a fun musical activity at the park.

We went to a safari park last weekend :)

It was great, although incredibly hot and sticky! we had fun, specially Amelia when she feed the deer :) She adores animals. She's very good with them, very gentle and sweet but with the deer she went nuts! she wanted to hug them and we had to keep holding her and controlling her as the deer started to run away from her after a while :S But it was so sweet to see her like that, liking them so much :)

This week has been so busy. I have lots of orders I'm working on and then Alex is out of town for the week, so it's just Amelia, the orders and me here...Crazy!! But I'm doing my best to keep the balance between everything, dedicating time just to Amelia, the cooking (when I have good food around I'm happy and function better!), the work and the relaxation times. I'm neglecting the sleeping a bit, though, but that is becoming more and more normal :S

Blueberry french toast sandwich

Weekends are always full of awesomeness: I love to wake up late one day (as Alex and I take turns one day each on the weekend, we both love to sleep!), having Alex with me for two whole days, having Alex helping me with Amelia, have a drink (or two, or more ;), watch movies in the evenings and of course, our weekends are always yummy-brunch-time!

Wow! what an exciting weekend this has been :)

Today at noon there's going to be a new featured seller on Etsy and I can't help but feel a little nostalgic that is going to be over soon. I won't have an inbox full of etsy circles notifications and 24hrs a day of continue FP goodness anymore. Regardless, this experience makes me feel so thankful and so inspired to keep working, I couldn't be happier!

I wanted to post here a couple more images that weren't included on the feature, just so you can have more insight on me and my work space and because I just really like them ;)

And now, a round of F.A.Q. by the people who kindly sent me messages this weekend :D

Q. How do you manage to have a business, a blog and take care of your little girl?

A. I wouldn't be able to manage it if not for: having a sweet, independent little girl who is content of just singing along with me while I work on the jewelry or the computer; having a sweet husband who helps me sand and anneal pieces every time I need; god bless Amelia's nap time; god bless baby tv (not proud of this, though!); god bless I can't sleep before 1am; and one of the most important things is that I've had to learn to live with a little bit of a messy home and the unexpected.

Q.Where do you buy your tools and supplies?

A. I buy all my stuff here in Montreal at 620 Cathcart or the Montreal jewellers paradise. No tool/internet buying for me :)

Q. Why do you charge $149 dlls for a 3cm piece of silver?

A. because I don't sell pieces of silver, I sell my work.

Q. How come your work table is so clean?

A. Well, I cleaned and organized it for the photo shoot :) but regardless, my work space is very clean indeed, I have a two and a half year old and I work at home! I clean and organize my work table every night, so I'm sure the dirt would not be spreading around my apt and Amelia won't be any close to dangerous tools, compounds or small pieces of things she could put on her mouth.

Those are the ones I really had to address publicly ;) it was definitely so much fun getting to know lots of new people, costumers, etsy sellers! And I want to thank all the lovely people who now is following my blog, welcome to Mademoiselle Cranky Pants (which was the nickname of my little girl when she was a new born ;))!

When I opened The Angry Weather on April 2010, the idea of being an Etsy Featured seller one day was a wild, crazy dream. A thing reserved just to the awesome, wonderful crafters of the Handmade movement. People I would look up to and say "wow, I want to be like her/him". Something I permitted myself to dream of (because I'm a believer of what I do) but at the same time, not dream of too much and better focus on reality.

Today, I find myself on Etsy blog, granted the honor of being the site featured seller and honestly, I still can't believe it. Am I dreaming? Alex, could you please pinch me?

Is it necessary for me to say this means a lot to me? it does! Not only was a wonderful, unexpected surprised to be approached (I had one of those episodes on the back of mi mind of "are you sure it's me you are asking this?"), but to be chosen among so many wonderful people, is just amazing to me. Truly, like I'm dreaming.

So bear with me because I'm taking the opportunity to spread some love!

I want to thank my amazing team mates at the Aspiring Artisans Guild team, Smell Like Team Spirit team, Team Team and the Treasury League team, I truly believe that your constant support and help putting my jewelry out there for the world to see, has been an essential piece in the growth of my business. Hi there!

I'm so happy to tell you I have a new Item on my shop and it's one of my favorite pieces. This may be because I love brooches so much and then, I love buttons. Mix them together and it's like SO cool for me!

The design of this piece was one of the first I came with when the "lost button" shower of ideas came in, but is until very recently I was able to finish the actual piece. I hope you like it :)

This is going to be such an exciting week for me, well, a very busy week that will get awesome at the end. I so wish I could spill the beans right now, but I can't! please, please, please keep up with me because I have amazing news to share with you soon!!!!!

Other awesome news is that the Canada post strike-lock out-thing is ooooover! You have no idea how stressed I was last week, with many orders lost in the mail limbo and another bunch in my desk waiting to be shipped. Well, they are still there waiting but, tomorrow the postal service will resume and I'll be first on the line to drop off my orders!!

Ring obsession

Yes, I have a ring obsession. Ever since I was a silly teenager I loved to wear rings more than any other kind of jewellery. And when I was on my twenties my fingers where full of rings of different sizes and shapes. I haven't changed that much since (on the ring love department, at least). As you will see on the photos below, most of the jewellery I use more frequently are rings.

I must say though, that brooches are my favourite jewellery thing, but for some reason I wear them less frequently. Maybe is one of those silly things on the back of my mind that says the things I like the most are for special occasions? hm mm...

It was our friend Karla's birthday celebration on Saturday and it was on her in laws beautiful chalet in the Laurentians. It was such a perfect saturday afternoon: friends, laugther, food, sun, wind, the forest and the water.

I took some photos, they take me back to the warm, breezy day :)

I just hope I would have taken a photo of Amelia and Karlas's little girl, Sophia, she's too cute!

Vintage treasures

Hello! How are you?! I hope you are doing great :)

Just wanted to stop by and let you know I have added a new section to my shop: vintage rings!

A little while ago (this day, precisely) I went to an antique market here in Montreal with two friends and we bought a bunch of awesome old rings of different shapes and textures. It was such a fun experience as we three (the friends I went to the market with) are jewellers and we were like children in a toy store picking up rings and finding treasures.

I found two rings that I particularly love: one is like a branch, with all this gorgeous wood grain details. And the other is a big, fat, funky bubble very reminiscent of the 60's I think. I took those two and have them cast in sterling silver so, in case I were to sell the original ones, I would keep one with me. I put those sterling silver ones in the shop, too :)

I love how this rings look when wearing them together: all the different lines and shapes all mixed up look fantastic, so cool.

I think this rings were created to make molds or just left overs from an old industry that make rings, I don't know, but they sure carry the marks of a long, hard working life. And that adds so much character to every piece.

Picton, Ontario

I'm back on my blog, yay!

And I want to share with you some photos from Picton, Ontario. We were there on Monday and Tuesday due to a meeting Alex had from work. We stayed in a charming little hotel, surrounded by gardens and close to a sandy beach in lake Ontario. I had a great time there, the town, the countryside, the farms and the beach and the company were lovely, plus the food in the hotel (from a chef and with many of the ingredients from their own gardens or locally grown) was so good and interesting.

I came back home so, so tired though! It was hot, hot, hot, humid and sunny, plus we walked a lot under the sun and that combination is not very good for me. But I feel good now, I got my energy back :)

Another awesome thing from this trip is that we spend lots of time with Marlene, the wife of one of Alex co-workers and she is french speaker. We almost always speak in English but this time we spoke only in french. I was able to practice a LOT (gaaaa and my french is not too crappy!)! so did Amelia. I'm so impressed at Amelia's language skills, she was having little conversations the whole time and her vocabulary is so big! Children are like little sponges...

Hi there! I hope you are doing very well. I've been away from the blog the whole week doing the usual crazy stuff like taking care of the little one, the home and making orders :)

But I've missed my blog so much! I thought of stop by to say hi and post some images that make my heart smile: Like the one of the fresh made bed. Fresh sheets always make me smile and fill my heart with comfort. And the pale color schemes are like vacations for my mind.

Do you have plans for the weekend? I'd love to know what are you going to do :) It's going to be sunny and nice here, we are going to take advantage of the sun spending lots of time outside and going to a craft show (yay! I love craft shows!) tomorrow.

All of a sudden Montreal is bright green, full force again.

And as when I first put my feet on this land, can't help but be amazed by the incredibly, fast-changing stations and its contrast.
Just a week ago leaves where just sprouting out and today is like they've always been there. Incredibly and so beautiful. I wonder if, one day, I'll stop being amazed by the beauty of the changing stations. Wouldn't it be so sad? to lose the capacity to recognize beauty because of routine?

We are enjoying this wonderful spring spending lots of time outside, eating tons of ice cream (well, the ice cream part is good but so dangerous!!) and most importantly: we are using sandals, yay!

If you are frequent to sites like Etsy or pinterest, chances are you are familiar with Erin Dollar's awesome work and great taste for cool things. I first "meet" her at Pinterest (where I have had the chance to meet so many awesome, talented people!), then Etsy and now, luckily for me, we are part of the same team (Aspiring Artisans Guild) and I enjoy a lot visiting her awesome shop to pick things for making treasuries, and well, sometimes just for the pleasure to look around the lovely things she makes ;)

I love her new collection for the home like hand printed coasters, pillow covers and tea towels. The fabric colors and the different geometric pattern combinations, blow my mind, plus her photography is a treat for the eyes!

I asked Erin to tell me a bit about her:

I am a Portland, Oregon native, who has been recently transplanted in Los Angeles. I am obsessed with printmaking, although I also branch out into drawing, painting and collage from time to time. Reading has always been a passion of mine, and I make part of my income working at the library, where I take care of the art book section... heaven! When I am not reading or making new art, I love to relax with my boyfriend and our cat, or go for a leisurely bike ride.

And what inspires her to create:

I think I am similar to many artists in that I just feel better when I am working on art. I am most happy when I have hours to spend in my studio space, and I can really get involved in the production of new work. There is something about the smell of printmaking ink that spurs lots of inspiration for me. Imagery wise, I tend to be inspired by vintage paper ephemera like science textbooks, as well as other artists who have unique line-work or who use very traditional processes. As a printmaker, I think there is something really special about a hand pulled print, and the quality of line and richness of ink that just can't compare to other processes. I am lucky to be inspired by the very medium I get to work in!

Hello and welcome to the new Mademoiselle Cranky Pants blog!

...Well, not all new, just the banner part ;) hehehehe oh and some of the things on the side bar, too! Do you like our new look?

I wanted it to represent some of the things I enjoy and talk about on the blog: The dinosaur toys are of course representing Amelia :) not that she has anything in common with a wild, extincted animal (lol), but she loves dinosaurs so much and I wanted to have one of her favorite toys here (and one that fitted my screen!).

The books are, well, representing just me, the things I like and I'm interested on (like illustration, children stories, creating a small business, and literature in general).

The bunting well, I just love buntings and paper stuff.

The things that are holding the bunting are a jewelry making accessory called third arms and I used them when I'm soldering my jewelry, so they represent my jewelry.

The minerals might represent my love for nature and also represent a bit of the jewelry thing, I guess.

The camera is because I love photography.

I think just Alex is missing :( but he's the most important thing of all so he'll be represented by my whole blog, because he's the pillar of it all, like the sunshine that lits everything around me :) so please don't feel excluded baby ;)

And speaking of Alex, he was the one to put the new blog look together as I'm such a dope for html :S Thanks cori!

Oh!! and my friend Alty helped me, too, with the fonts and speech bubbles! she did such a wonderful job :) thanks Champs!!!

And that's the inspiration and concept behind my new banner :) I hope you enjoy a bit more to come here and look around! For sure my eyes are super happy with all the changes, not that I did not like my old look but changes are always good. And this is particularly lovely :)

That has been pretty much the panorama over here during the whole week: rainy and very cloudy. Well, yesterday the clouds let the blue sky show itself a bit and it was lovely.

Good thing is that this weekend is promising. We expect the sun to come out and the best part is that Alex is going to be back home after a whole week of travel and I'm so happy. I miss him so much!

Oh, and we'll have a long weekend, yay!

How are you?!

I've been so absent from my blog lately. It feels like AGES since the last time I posted something! Things are a bit craaaazy over here, but in a good way. I'm just too busy and with no much time to write here.

Isn't that photo the cutest photo?! He's too cute!!

Things are going so well on the shop! I have some jewelry projects I haven't even been able to finish due to the orders that are coming all the time (yay!), I'm truly feeling like I have a real job now and my own little business.

I truly thank the members on the teams I'm part of for helping me reach my goals, because if it was not for your support, this would be different. It'll be a lot slower, I think!

There's also a couple nasty things that happened this week, too. Maybe you already know about them because I've been whining (oops!) all over facebook and twitter. The thing is that, a "seller" on etsy was using two of my images and descriptions to "sell" on her own shop. She was even selling my designs at higher prices! because, you know, it's so hard to wake up every morning and copy-paste other's people listings on her own shop...so crazy, but the good news is that she had removed all the images she had on her shop and I hope etsy delete her account because I'm sure she is just there with a paypal account to steal buyer's money.

Hi!

I can't believe we are starting a new week, wow, time goes by so fast lately. How was your weekend? I hope great :)

It was good for us :) I went to have my hair cut (I love it ;), I shopped a bit ;) we watched movies (we saw The Black Swan and I like it a lot!) and on Sunday we went to have dinner with friends. A lovely weekend even when the weather was soooo rainy and will stay like that for the rest of the week :S

How are you doing today? I hope really good :)

I took some photos a couple days ago while working on the jewelry and thought of sharing them with you :)

I was making several things (one Refuge Necklace, Nube Necklace, Lightning Bolt earrings, Raindrop earrings and a couple lost buttons) and realized I had a little thunderstorm made of small silver pieces. Cute, isn't it?

You see I have to draw the little designs on paper and then glue them on the silver sheet to cut them :) This is like, the first of many steps to complete a piece. I shall take more photos of the complete process...one of this days!

Let me tell you, this dream can be achieved...Well, at least if you have a good imagination and thanks to Misako Mikomo fake watches ;)

No, this is not a commercial, it's just me, very happy to have received in the mail my very own fake watch from the awesome Eva Monleón from Misako Mikomo.

I first saw her awesome fake watches in one of my favorite internet places, Seventy Tree blog. Since I saw it I knew a fake watch was what I needed in my life and after many months of just dreaming of it, I finally make it mine :D Yay!

Good morning everybody!! I hope your weekend was loooovely :)

In other things, so many stuff going on in the word right now, eh? To begin with, is election day here in Canada and then there is the O.B. Ladden thing. I hope we were a more peaceful specie.

Sadly, war is not going to be over anytime soon, I think.

But I don't want to scare you away from my blog. So I better focus in the little things we can do to be kinder to ourselves and to each other. Let's just begin taking a look outside our window and enjoy the beautiful sight of the world we live in. And let's not forget to smile to each other, even if we are complete strangers.

In Mexico today we celebrate children's day. It's a fun day, very fun.

For the kiddos there are toys, candy and all kinds of parties involved. Free stuff on shops, free meals at restaurants, free entrances to museums, trips to the toy store and so on :)

We, the older people, not content to just give the day to the little ones, try to include ourselves in the festivities too, celebrating our inner child (that in my case, is not so inner). This is the reason I'm posting a photo of my 5 year-old self today, so I can celebrate, too, the little girl I was and will always be (no matter how wrinkly I get ;).

Happy children's day for all the little ones and for you too, the older kind!!

It's always exciting for me to receive packages in the mail from Etsy sellers. But I have to say that my little package from PinkRain was the one that have make me the happier!

I bought the Mini mini house brooch and it is so cute and perfect and Mafalda (the lovely illustrator/artist) sent me some adorable little things along like the triangle brooch and the ghost little red brooch that are just my type of thing. Open that package was like christmas in April!

I absolutely adore the little keepsake bag she sent me, is so perfect and cute I want to eat it!!! For more awesomely cute things go to PinkRain shop.

The bag is too a recent purchase from this amazing shop. It is custom made for me and I couldn't believe how fast it arrived and the excellent craftsmanship, I love my bag! Plus she sent me a lovely mini wallet and the button with the sweet crying-dog :) Visit Christina's and see the cool bags she makes :)

And this little lady is called Daisy but Amelia baptized her as Neige (which is french for snow) or Niña (spanish for little girl). I don't know how she came up with those names, but I like them :)

It was so hard to pick just one doll from GoodByeBlueMonday, this shop is full of the cutest little friends and I already want to come back for more :) Like, I want all those dolls for me!

Hey!! So glad to see you here :D

I'm back after a very lovely vacation. I hope all of you are very well and happy :)

I have some photos I want to share with you from our little trip. We went to Boston, Massachusetts and then to Newport, Rhode Island all this in the USA.

Boston was lovely as always! I'll never get tired of Boston, I find it very charming and lovely. Plus we were there and all the trees were blossoming and I was so happy taking photos of the flowers, yay!

Then we went to Newport which is this small, charming town by the sea and it was so cool. Although the time we were there it was cold and CRAZY windy, it kind of added up to the mood and it was magical.

Awww I wanted to do so much stuff on my blog this week and now I'm leaving tomorrow for vacations and I did nothing!

Sorry I promised you fun and surprises for this week, it'll have to be when I'm back. Gosh I can't believe how hectic things have been lately over here. I truly felt overwhelmed at some point by all things I had on my "to do list"...now I'm trying to focus on the days we are going to spend doing fun stuff and relaxing (I hope!) away from home.

I hope you are excited because is Friday!! I am so happy :) it's been a long week with Alex out of town and I miss him! so glad he is going to be back today :)

We made a little trip to the ice cream shop this afternoon. The day was glorious, so sunny and mild :) I was happy to have my favourite ice cream after all this winter months when the idea of having ice cream sounds so crazy. Amelia was delighted, she didn't want to share at all :S poor girl, a sugar lover just like mommy :S
